In the book Of Mice and Men, the author introduces many characters in chapter two. One of the characters in particular, Curley, has become ideally crabby.
Curley has become known as a grouchy man. Everyone he put his eye on, he treated them with unkindness. Curley constantly picked on the men his wife was giving 'the eye' to. This may have been the reasoning of him being so cantankerous towards all the men at the bunks.
Curley didn't like treating people with much approbation. George, one of the bunk men, thought if Curley wanted to pick a fight with Lennie, he would win because he was built good. George said ominously, "Well, he better watch out for Lennie. Lennie ain't no fighter, bet Lennie's strong and quick, and Lennie don't know no rules"(pg. 27). With that being said, Curley didn't always know what could happen.
